SIKKIM was a monarchy and an Indian protectorate till it emerged as the 22nd Indian State in 1975. You visit Sikkim to see the people...Lepchas, Bhutis, Nepalis...gracious, friendly and fun loving. BHUTAN'S jealously guarded isolation and stunning scenery makes it one of the most desired places to visit by seasoned travelers. It is often said that even the most experienced traveler will find Bhutan to be a 'revelation'. The air is clean and unpolluted, the mountains are magnificent and the architecture awe-inspiring. Bhutan is very protective of its natural environment and the culture of its people. Transit through Kathmandu, Nepal before flying on one of the most scenic flights in the world over the Himalayas and Mt. Everest to Lhasa, Tibet. ISOLATED by formidable natural barriers and its political condition, Tibet was truly a 'forbidden' land. Now April through October twice weekly flights over the Himalayas brings you from Kathmandu to Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet (11, 850 ft). The Gonggar airport is almost 62 miles away. You will visit Buddhist monasteries including the massive Potala Palace, vibrant Barkhor Street, see vast open space and meet roving nomads with their herds of yak and sheep.
