Day 2
ARRIVE DELHI
Late night arrival in Delhi, capital of India. It's history
goes back 2000 years. THE CLARIDGES/THE METROPOLITAN.
Day 3
DELHI (BLD)
New Delhi tour visits the impressive Qutab Minar, a 234-ft sandstone tower and Humayun's tomb. See the Government buildings and presidential palace along the broad and majestic Rajpath. Tour Old Delhi to see the Red Fort, a symbol of Mughal power. On return, visit Raj Ghat, a memorial to the great Mahatma Gandhi.
Day 4
DELHI - NEEMRANA (BLD)
Today we drive to Neemrana Fort Palace via the 'Modern India' city of Gurgaon. Enjoy the opulence of the elegantly restored Neemrana Fort Palace in one of the most enchanting countryside settings. NEEMRANA FORT PALACE.
Day 5
NEEMRANA - SAMODE - JAIPUR (BLD)
Today we drive to Jaipur via Samode Palace, a perfect jeweled palace, with a unique blend of Rajput and Mughal style of architecture. Enjoy lunch in the stately banquets of Samode Palace. Later participate in a village safari on a camel back to experience first hand rural life of India. CARLSON COUNTRY INN.
Day 6
JAIPUR (BLD)
Riding on elegantly caparisoned elephants, we make our way to the Amber Fort. Inside, we will find lavish courtyards, beautifully decorated halls and the Chamber of Mirrors. Afternoon tour, visiting the Royal Observatory and Palace Museum, see the ornate and elaborate Palace of Winds. Later explore the exotic 'bazaars' of Jaipur.
Day 7
JAIPUR - RANTHAMBORE (BLD)
Today we drive to Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Afternoon nature drive by park vehicles. DEVVILAS RESORT.
Day 8
RANTHAMBORE - AGRA (BLD)
Morn­ing nature drive by park vehicles. Later we travel to Agra visiting en route Fatehpur Sikri, the once fabled Mughal capital that now lies quietly but wonderfully preserved. THE TRIDENT.
Day 9
AGRA (BLD)
We will visit the Taj Mahal built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 AD in memory of his Queen. It took the world's best craftsmen and over 20,000 workers almost 20 years to build this dream. We will also visit the Agra Fort. Later sample the arts of the region.
Day 10
AGRA - ORCHHA - KHAJURAHO (BLD)
First class train ride to Jhansi and then drive to Khajuraho visiting en route palaces and temples of Orchha. In Khajuraho, the temples are known for their symmetry and design, and for their intricate and erotic carvings. TAJ CHANDELA.
Day 11
KHAJURAHO (BLD)
Today visit the magnificent Khajuraho Temples.
Day 12
KHAJURAHO - VARANASI (BLD)
Fly to one of the oldest and most fascinating cities in India, Varanasi. With its array of shrines, temples and palaces, rising in several tiers from the water's edge, Varanasi is the holiest city for Hindus. Later visit Sarnath, the site where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon. TAJ GANGES.
Day 13
VARANASI - DELHI - HOMEBOUND (B)
Early morning boat ride on the Ganges River. Thousands of devout Hindus descend to the holy waters of the Ganges for purification. Later fly to Delhi and connect homebound flights.
Day 14
ARRIVE
West Coast or East Coast.
